Individually Divided

It’s a feeling of mediocrity
A million voices crying out, saying the same thing,
“I want to be special.”
Each voice an individual, each a distinct being
That are all exactly the same;
The same words arranged in a different order
“It’s not what makes us different; it’s what makes us similar.”
“It’s not what makes us similar; it’s what makes us different.”
They cry out in one voice, praying for significance
But if we are all the same, why can’t we get along?
